An antique French wooden butter stamp with a beautifully carved thistle motif.

The rectangular stamp face has a beveled edge, while the turned handle has a graceful, tapered form that gives the piece wonderful presence even when simply displayed.

Condition:

Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and former use.

The wood shows natural surface variation, rubbing, scratches, and age-related wear. One small area of the wood appears slightly lifted or rough but remains intact and adds to the character of the piece.

Use & Styling:

I would keep this one in the kitchen where the beautiful turned handle can be seen. Stand it upright beside wooden utensils, or place it on an open shelf among other collected kitchen pieces.
