Pair of Vintage Molded Plaster Faux-Bois Lion-Head Corbels

Description:

Molded in deep relief and finished in warm brown tones to imitate carved wood. Each lion has an open mouth, rounded muzzle, and a stylized mane, giving the pair the character of old architectural fragments in a compact, decorative scale.

The convincing faux-bois finish creates the appearance of stained wood. Their substantial weight and sculptural presence make them especially effective as decorative objects, whether displayed together or used to frame a small artwork, mirror, or collected vignette.

Sold as a pair.

Condition:

Good vintage condition with surface wear consistent with age and use. There are scattered small nicks, rubbed areas, and minor edge losses, with pale composition visible in several places, particularly along the upper corners and raised facial details.

Wear, discoloration, and old surface residue are present on the flat backs. No visible hanging hardware is currently attached. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of the condition description.

Use & Styling:

Display the pair upright on a mantel, bookshelf, or console, where their strong profiles can be appreciated from the side. They would also be striking placed on either side of a small portrait, gilt mirror, or grouping of antique frames.

Appropriate hardware could be easily added for decorative wall display.
