Description:

A handsome vintage kitchen canister with a warm copper-plated finish, gently rounded body, and fitted domed lid topped by a simple mushroom-shaped finial.

The softly aged copper surface carries rich tonal variation, scattered oxidation, and traces of verdigris that give the vessel an appealing collected character. 

Historical or Decorative Notes:

Lidded metal canisters of this form were commonly used for storing dry kitchen goods such as tea, coffee, sugar, or spices. The interior has a separate silver-toned lining, while the exterior was finished to provide the warmth and appearance of copper.

Condition:

Good vintage condition with scratches, rubbing, darkened areas, oxidation, and scattered surface marks consistent with age and use.

The lid shows visible scratching and finish wear. There is a small dent near the lower edge of the body, along with minor areas of verdigris and patina throughout.

The precise composition of the interior lining is unknown. Recommended for decorative storage or for holding individually wrapped items rather than direct contact with unpackaged food.
