Shipping, Packing & Care

Each piece is carefully packed with attention to its material, age, and structure. The following outlines how items are prepared for shipment, protected in transit, and what you can expect upon arrival.

How Your Piece is Packed

Each piece is individually wrapped using protective materials selected for its form and fragility.

Delicate areas such as rims, handles, edges, and feet are reinforced to prevent pressure during transit. Cushioning is added to eliminate movement within the box.

For fragile items, a double-box method is used to provide layered protection throughout shipping.

This process is designed to ensure each piece arrives as safely as possible, from our hands to yours.

The Double-Box Method

Fragile items are packed using a two-box system.

  • The inner box stabilizes the piece and prevents internal movement
  • The outer box acts as a buffer against impact, pressure, and handling during transit

This method is used for items such as ironstone, pottery, glass, and other delicate materials.

Material-Specific Care

Each material is handled differently to preserve both structure and surface.

  • Ironstone & Pottery
    Protected at rims, handles, and bases to prevent chipping
  • Glass & Crystal
    Reinforced to prevent contact stress and internal pressure
  • Brass & Metalware
    Wrapped to protect patina and prevent surface abrasion
  • Aged Wood
    Stabilized to reduce stress on joints, veneers, and original construction

Packing is adjusted based on the condition and age of each piece.

Shipping Times & Insurance

Most orders are shipped from within the United States within 3–5 business days.

All shipments include insurance coverage appropriate to the value of the item.

Tracking is provided once your order ships.

International shipping may be available upon request.

Returns

Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our pieces & because each piece is carefully described and photographed to reflect its true condition, all sales are final. However, if there is an unforeseen circumstance that arises, we will handle it on a case by case basis.

What is not eligible for return?

Returns are not accepted for signs of age or wear, including patina, craquelure, minor chips, or variations in tone and texture.

These characteristics are inherent to antique and vintage pieces and are part of their history.

When is something considered an issue?

An issue is considered a significant problem beyond the condition shown or described.

This may include damage that occurred during transit or a discrepancy that structurally affects the integrity of the piece.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Include photos of:

  • The item
  • The inner packaging
  • The outer box

All packaging materials must be retained for insurance claims.

Once received, we will file a claim and work with you toward a resolution.

Furniture Shipping

Furniture and oversized pieces require specialized handling and delivery.

We work with trusted third-party carriers experienced in transporting antiques and fragile goods. Each shipment is arranged individually to ensure your piece is handled with care from pickup to delivery.

Once a piece is purchased (or a quote is requested), we coordinate directly with our shipping partners to obtain delivery options based on your location.

Shipping timelines and pricing vary depending on distance, size, and delivery access.
