Antique French Blue Floral Ironstone Soupière with Lid
An antique French blue and white ironstone soupière, sourced in the French Provinces, with a beautifully aged cool glaze, delicate blue floral decoration, and a fitted domed lid.
This piece has such a lovely old-world kitchen presence, with intact side handles, a sweet molded flower finial, and a banded beaded detail around the lower body. The blue floral motifs are repeated across the body and lid, giving it that classic French country charm without feeling overly formal.
The base is stamped with the number “5,” likely a size or production mark. It has a nice ring when tapped and appears to be French ironstone or a terre de fer-type ceramic.
A beautiful piece for a kitchen shelf, open hutch, dining room vignette, or collected blue and white display.
