Description:

An antique French enamelware chamberstick with a white enamel body, cobalt blue rim, raised candle cup, shallow drip dish, and side handle.

This piece was chosen for its honest household wear. The form is simple and useful: a wide dish to catch wax, a raised center cup for the candle, and a handle for carrying it from room to room. The cobalt rim gives the piece a clear French country look, while the worn enamel and exposed dark metal bring the age forward.

The best details are in the surface: chipping along the rim, oxidation around the candle cup and handle, and softened wear where the piece would have been handled over time. It has the feeling of an old practical object that was used, kept, and still has presence.

Condition:

Good antique condition with visible enamel loss, chipping, oxidation, darkened edges, and surface wear throughout. Structurally stable and displays well. Best used decoratively or with care.

Use & Styling:

Lovely on a bedside table, mantel, kitchen shelf, or beside a small stack of old books. It pairs especially well with French enamelware, stoneware, linen, lavender, ironstone, and darker wood. I would style it where the blue rim and worn candle cup can be seen from above.
