Description:
A small French miniature floral still life, set in a hand-turned wood frame with a warm gilt copper-alloy bezel and glass front.
The painting is beautifully detailed, with roses, blue forget-me-not-like flowers, yellow blooms, greenery, and a tiny nest of blue eggs gathered in the composition. The floral scene is signed along the lower edge, though the artist’s signature is difficult to read.
The miniature appears to be painted on a hard matte porcelain or ceramic-like plaque, with the base color softly absorbed into the surface. The frame is solid wood with a warm honey tone, and the back is finished with a textured leather-like material and a small hand-hammered hanging loop.
A charming small piece for a gallery wall, bookshelf, bedside table, vanity, or layered French-inspired vignette.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with light age-related wear. The wood frame is intact, the gilt metal bezel is secure, and the hanging loop remains in place. The back has a textured leather-like covering with visible age. Any patina, small marks, and age-related wear are considered part of the character of the piece. Sold as is. Please see photos carefully.
