Description:
A beautiful set of three vintage French copper canelé molds, traditionally used for baking the deeply fluted canelés de Bordeaux.
Each little mold has the classic tall fluted form that gives the pastry its distinctive shape, with warm aged copper exteriors and silver-colored lined interiors. The copper has developed wonderful variation over time, including spotting, darkened areas, and touches of green verdigris that give the set the character of old French kitchenware.
Collected together, the three make an especially beautiful little group whether used as culinary objects or simply displayed.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and former use.
The copper surfaces show natural patina, spotting, discoloration, surface marks, and areas of verdigris. The interiors retain their silver-colored lining.
Because the age and condition of the interior lining are unknown, these are sold as decorative vintage objects. They should be professionally assessed before being returned to culinary use.
Use & Styling:
