Small Vintage Stoneware Crock, Warm Beige-Brown Glaze
Age / Period:
Vintage
Measurements:
3” diameter x 2.5” tall
Material:
Stoneware
Maker / Markings / Provenance:
Unmarked
Description:
A small vintage stoneware crock with a warm beige-brown glaze, thick rolled rim, and the look of a small faisselle-style vessel. I chose this piece for its earthy tone, sturdy make, and quietly useful form. The glaze has a warm, grounded quality that sits beautifully beside stained ironstone, old wood, linen, and other country kitchen pieces.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related wear and surface variation throughout. There is one small chip and minor glaze wear consistent with age and use. The two circular side indentations do not go through the wall of the piece. Additional photos are available upon request.
Historical or Decorative Notes:
This piece has the look of a small dairy or faisselle-style form, though it is unmarked and its original use is not confirmed. The thick rolled rim, warm glaze, and side indentations give it the feel of a practical kitchen piece with age and use behind it.
Use & Styling:
Style it on a kitchen table, open shelf, pantry ledge, or beside ironstone, old wood, linens, cutting boards, and country interiors. Useful for matches, toothpicks, cocktail picks, salt, small brushes, dried herbs, or simply as a small earthen accent among collected kitchen pieces.
